Turtles and Tortoises

Welcome Back!

This time I'm highlighting some turtle and tortoise shots from the Alligator Adventure! My favourites are the second and the last photos. I think this may be the end of the Alligator Adventure photos! I'll have to find something to highlight next time!

Well, we had a good trip to Myrtle Beach this year. We did alot of walking..my feet were sore everyday! We didn't go back to the Alligator Adventure this year or Ripley's, but we did go to the Waccatee Zoo, Huntington State Beach and of course, the boardwalks, where we typically see some pelicans. Of course, this time there weren't very many of them, so not sure if I got too many shots of them! :-(

The weather was quite different this year! It was 19 when we arrived and then it went up to 25 and 26 on Mon and Tuesday, then on Thursday it was only 8 degrees! So, I was walking around the zoo with my winter coat on! :-) The locals said it hadn't been very nice weather. It was sunny and 14 when we left, so it was hard to get in the car and drive home! We ran into a snowstorm as we got on the Hwy 401 in Gananoque and could not see where we were going, so we got off at the next exit and took the hwy 2 until Kingston (it wasn't snowing there).

I'm glad this week is quiet as I'm fighting the cold that Keturah and Kevin have!

More soon...

Alligator Adventures: The Last of the Alligators!!

Welcome Back!

This week I am highlighting the LAST of the alligator photos. I bet you are all glad! I do have a few more shots of other animals at the Alligator Adventure, which I will include next time!

These photos are head shots and some shots of their enclosures so you can see they do have a few alligators. This is only one pen of them..they have quite a few more pens filled with them!

The last photo is that of an Albino Alligator. These guys are very hard to shoot as they are inside a fairly dark garage-type structure and its not very big either! They were laying in their little pond, so I only got a couple of head shots.

Well, I've been busy getting spring clothes ready for packing..almost there! I submitted my exam for the HTML/CSS course on the weekend and got 94% on the exam! Whoo Hoo..I'm just glad to get through it, it was a very challenging course. What to take next? Maybe some web design or WordPress courses.

Well, we leave on Friday morning, so this will be my last post until we return. It's calling for rain every day this week in Myrtle Beach so hopefully it will be nice when we are there..I don't care if it's hot, as long as it's sunny!!

I'll likely post photos on Facebook depending on the internet connection. Last year it sucked in the evening...was okay in the mornings so that is when I would usually post! We're staying at a different resort this year (but owned by the same corporation) so we shall see if this one is the same or better!

Have a great couple of weeks!

Alligator Adventure: Feathered Friends

Welcome Back!

This time I have some photos of the pretty birds found at the Alligator Adventure in Myrtle Beach. They include macaws, snuggling in the first photo, a bunch of my favourite shots of the swans, who were following us around the pond (we had corn) and a couple of emus. The emus are found on the trail around the whole Adventure. It's a nice walk around there as you can see other farm animals and more alligators of course!

Well, I'm sure glad this week is almost over..it's been tiring with appointments and getting up early! I don't know how I managed to do all these appointments and work before! :-)

This weekend, will find me sorting through some spring clothes to launder and pack as we leave next Friday morning! I can't wait..I'm so ready to ditch this snow!

I'll have another post early next week! Enjoy your weekend!

Alligator Adventure: More Alligators!

Welcome Back!

This week I have more alligator shots...I think one more week of them and then I'll be done...just in time to head back there for a visit...this time they have wolves and red kangaroos on display, so that should be interesting--something new to shoot.

Well, I managed to get some homework done on Saturday, still have a couple of lessons to do then the exam! Have to get it submitted by the time I leave for March Break! We took Brooke to the train on Sunday and she left for a few more weeks! She'll soon be home for the summer! Yay!

Tomorrow I get the pleasure of sitting at the Dodge dealer for 4 hours for scheduled maintenance for Kevin's van! Lots of fun---not! Oh well, at least I have lots of reading material to take with me! :-) Zeek has a hair appointment on Thursday, so I'll be home alone all afternoon, without a small dog on my lap--whatever will I do without him! At least he'll be ready for the beach!

More later this week!

Alligator Adventure: Birds, Birds, Birds!

Welcome Back!

This time I'm highlighting some birds from the Alligator Adventure. I'm not sure what kind the first two are... I was aiming to get a "foot" shot of the first bird..it's got really big feet! The rest of the shots are ducks and swans.

Next time I'll have more alligator shots..almost done with them!

This week has been crazy..we've had more snow days then school days! Brooke and I managed to hang out at the mall the other day and the gym yesterday! Today I had an appointment with Career Edge for help with the job hunting. I think I'll be doing HTML/CSS homework all weekend as I'm a bit behind! :-(  Brooke heads back on the train on Sunday. Wow, the week sure went by fast!

Have a great weekend!

Alligator Adventure: Smaller Alligators

Welcome Back!

This time I'm highlighting more alligators from the Alligator Adventure in Myrtle Beach. These are all small alligators, approximately 4ft long or smaller. I assume they are babies, since the juvenile ones are a bit bigger! I don't recall seeing a sign stating their age and it doesn't specify on the map! If we go back this year, I'll have to ask or take note.

They are quite cute little guys, compared to the bigger, scarier looking ones!

Well, a really long weekend for the kids this time..a snow day today! Brooke got in on Saturday at 5:45pm, instead of her scheduled 1:30pm..that train is always delayed! We almost drove to Toronto to get her! :-)

Sunday, we had my sister and her husband over for dinner and an ice cream cake for Brookie too, since we couldn't take one to Waterloo when we were there for her birthday!

Family Day we took a drive over to Amherst Island to see if we could find any owls, but didn't see anything to shoot!! SIGH.

I'll have another post later this week!
