More Pelicans!

Welcome Back!

Sorry for the posting issue last week! I noticed that the pelican post didn't get published on Monday, so I published that on Friday along with the penguin post! Two posts in one day! I've been having issues with Blogger...really hoping I don't have to change to WordPress! I'll give it another chance! :-)

Today I'm highlighting the last of the good pelican photos I got at the Zoo. These are again the Pink-Backed Pelicans found in the African Savanna! Seeing these guys make me want to go to Myrtle Beach and see the Brown ones in the wild! I guess I'll have to wait until March Break!

Well, I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was rather quiet as I wasn't feeling the greatest, but managed a nice visit with my Uncle in Westlake and some shopping with my daughter! This week should be relatively quiet! Hopefully get back to my walking (dragging) schedule with my doggie! :-)

More soon!

The Last of the Pelicans...

Welcome back!

I'm posting early this week as I'm working in Oneida all week and it gets a tad boring in the hotel room..there is only so many Criminal Minds episodes I can watch per night! :-D

These are the rest of the good photos I have of the Pelicans at the Huntington Beach State Park. Next week I'll find something else to highlight...maybe the moose shots from Algonquin Park!

Have a great week!

More Pelicans!

Welcome Back!

This week I'm including more pelican shots..sorry, I love these birds! Sadly, these aren't the last of them! Next week will be for sure....okay? :-D

These were taken at the Huntington Beach State Park in Myrtle Beach...they were so cute, posing for the camera, I couldn't resist taking 100s of them! So was everyone else, so I don't feel so bad!

Anyway, I managed to get some great MOOSE shots on the weekend in Algonquin Park. YEAH! We saw about 10-11 throughout the weekend...I made the family drive back and forth on HWY 60 a few dozen times! :-) We also hiked some trails...about 3-4..maybe 5 kms altogether--my little dog liked it! Lots of bugs out this time..thank goodness for bug spray! We also saw a cute fox when we stopped to watch a young moose and when we slowed down on the way back, the fox was still there so we stopped and I hopped out, but I didn't really need too, he came running over..he didn't look like he had rabies...I hope not anyway! I think he may have been hungry..Zeek barked at him and he ran into the woods...I managed to get a few shots of him.

I will post shots of the Algonquin critters in a couple of weeks--I have to go through them all...Yep 16+ GB of photos!

On Sunday I'm heading for my second home---Oneida for the whole week. So, I will bring everything I need to get a post up next week.

Have a great weekend!

Flying Feathered Friends...

Welcome back!

This week I'm highlighting some feathered friends from Murrell's Inlet in Myrtle Beach. This is a favourite nature area of ours as we always see some kind of wildlife. This time I saw a few pelicans and you know how much I adore them!

I thought I'd start my pelican retrospective with some flying ones. I am not sure I've ever included flying ones before--maybe one, but this time, they were quite active, so I managed a few that I was happy with.

The sixth picture is that of an island just out from the boardwalk. I think you can canoe over there or if the tide is low enough you could probably walk! Anyway, there were a bunch of pelicans sunning themselves on this island.

The seventh picture is that of a fisherman who was checking his nets with a lot of inspectors (pelicans) standing by. He did throw some fish at them..likely ones that were too small for his taste. It was cute watching them follow the fisherman around...I figure he must do this every time to have such a following!

I'll probably have more pelican shots next week!

Have a good one!

Myrtle Beach Pelicans!

And I don't mean the baseball team...yep, before we left, when I googled "pelicans, myrtle beach", it came up with the baseball team and as a wildlife photographer, it was definitely not what I was looking for!!

I was so excited when we found these cute little guys guys on Tuesday when we stopped at Murrells Inlet Marsh Walk. They were all hanging out along the boardwalk and I got lots of pictures...here are my favourite four!

I can't believe our holiday is almost over...we have to leave tomorrow and today it's a bit cloudy and rainy, so we are wondering what to do..maybe shopping as it's indoor!
