My Favourite Birds

Welcome Back!

This time I'm highlighting some photos of my favourite birds and I also included a palm tree! When I start seeing these along our trip, I know we're almost there (to MB)!

All of these photos except the last three were taken along the docks near Captain Nance's restaurant in Callabash, NC. Unfortunately the pelican didn't stick around long, so I didn't get very many photos of it.

The last three pelican shots were taken at Murrell's Inlet, which is a great boardwalk to walk around...Yummy restaurants here too! I think we go to MB just for the food selections! We even tried some new restaurants this time, as well as some of the usual haunts.

When we were in Murrell's Inlet, it was 26 degrees...I was about to complain about how hot it is, then I remembered how cold/snowy it was when we left, so I didn't say a word..just enjoyed it--then we went and had some ice cream!

This week has been quiet as I had hoped. That's always a good thing! I managed to hit the gym 3 days and got my haircut too. Nothing planned for the weekend....so maybe spend time in my craft room and visit my Uncle on Sunday.

Have a great weekend!

Pelicans!

Welcome Back!

Wow, can you believe I've been at this for 5 years! My first blog post here was April 28, 2008!

Sometimes it's tiresome, especially when I have computer and slow internet issues, but it's also very rewarding. I love photography, editing photos and updating this blog. I'd probably blog daily if I didn't have to work! :-)

Anyway, as promised (or warned :-D) I said I would highlight some photos of pelicans this week. I can't believe how many I actually take each day when I have something to shoot and the tedious part is having to go through them all!

These shots were taken at Murrell's Inlet in Myrtle Beach. Unfortunately the SUN was shining very brightly that day so some of these photos are a bit too bright.

I do have lots more taken at Huntington Beach State Park, which I will hopefully highlight next week. I say hopefully, as I am travelling to Oneida once again on Sunday til Thursday so I'm not sure if I will be able to. Hopefully, I'll remember to bring everything I'll need!

Thanks for visiting!

Flying Feathered Friends...

Welcome back!

This week I'm highlighting some feathered friends from Murrell's Inlet in Myrtle Beach. This is a favourite nature area of ours as we always see some kind of wildlife. This time I saw a few pelicans and you know how much I adore them!

I thought I'd start my pelican retrospective with some flying ones. I am not sure I've ever included flying ones before--maybe one, but this time, they were quite active, so I managed a few that I was happy with.

The sixth picture is that of an island just out from the boardwalk. I think you can canoe over there or if the tide is low enough you could probably walk! Anyway, there were a bunch of pelicans sunning themselves on this island.

The seventh picture is that of a fisherman who was checking his nets with a lot of inspectors (pelicans) standing by. He did throw some fish at them..likely ones that were too small for his taste. It was cute watching them follow the fisherman around...I figure he must do this every time to have such a following!

I'll probably have more pelican shots next week!

Have a good one!
