Seal Cove Beach, Grand Manan Island, NB

Seal Cove Beach, Grand Manan Island

Welcome back! This time I am including some photos of the Seal Cove Sand Beach found on Grand Manan Island. As you can see from these photos, the tide is out, so lots of walking in the sand here! The sun was bright in some photos as this was after supper. On the photo of the rocks (and it's a tall pile), you can see how far up the water does come when the tide is in....It's just so cool to witness. Sometimes it's a detriment if you want to go fishing at a certain time, only to find the tide is out and there's little or no water! :-)

I'm late posting this week as yesterday was busy. We re-started our renovations and had to run to Home Depot and then came home to try to install exterior doors, only to find we didn't have everything we needed! SIGH. So, we are at it again today, but I'm taking a break! :-)

Last week, we went to Ottawa with Keturah, as she had orientation for her new job at Costco. We went shopping at the outlet mall, visited with friends and went to watch Liam play baseball. She was finally done at 8pm. A very late night for us! She had to start work on Friday evening, so she drove down on Friday with her clothes and belongings..it was so sad to see her go! :-( The house is so quiet now!

We are heading to Grand Manan in a few weeks, so we have that to look forward to---it will likely be just Kevin, Zeek and me!

Anchorage Provincial Park, Grand Manan Island, NB

Anchorage Provincial Park, Grand Manan Island

Welcome Back!

This time I have a few more photos from the Red Point area of the Anchorage Provincial Park.

These photos include scenic shots of the beach, sun, rock formations and of course, the critters (green crabs!)

This week went by very quickly! I wrote and passed my exam on Wednesday, so officially was completed everything Wednesday afternoon! I left with mixed emotions...I will miss all the teachers and the friends I made and the routine, but I'm very glad to be done the program and now I can move onto the next phase of my venture! Yay!

I have been working on my own business, which is a web and graphic design business. My webpage can be found here:

Please send my info to anyone who might be interested! I'd certainly appreciate it!

Keturah's Grade 12 graduation was Thursday night and was actually quite good...maybe because I knew a few of the students graduating! We went out for snacks and drinks afterwards at Shoeless Joes with my sister and her hubby!

Saturday, we went to my nephew's 40th birthday party..more food and fun! It was great to see everyone again and especially my niece and her family from Kentucky! Today is a lazy day..laundry, groceries, movies and a big pot of soup, I think! :-)

Have a great week!

Scenes from Grand Manan

Welcome back!

This week I'm including some scenic shots of places around Grand Manan.

1st -4th shots-taken while we played on the beach. I can never remember the name of this beach..its just along the road and is kind of hidden by bushes! The 3rd shot shows some steam rising from the sand..pretty cool!

5th-7th shots were taken from the fishing wharf. Yes, the sky and water are REALLY that colour! I shot these while we were fishing for mackerel. We only had 3 fishing poles, so we had to take turns!

Next week, I'll be adding photos from the rest of our trip-----when we stopped in the USA at the Strawberry Banke Museum...they had an awesome garden!

Well, I had a busy week working in Oneida. It  didn't help that I got sick on the Monday and am still trying to get rid of it...made teaching interesting when I couldn't stop coughing some days!

I also had an interesting and VERY long drive home on Friday night. I took the back roads to avoid the pileup and subsequent closure of the 401 and ended up getting home at 11pm. I was pretty wiped and still am..I hope I can sleep better tonight without all that coughing..

Landscapes of NB & PEI

I'll keep this short today as I'm sick with a head cold..thanks to my darling daughter for sharing her germs with me!

Here are some scenics taken along our journey through NB and PEI.
1st-St John River-taken while we were standing in the middle of the Hartland Covered Bridge
2nd-New Argyle Beach-taken because of the light
3rd-New Argyle Beach as the sun was setting
4th-East Point Light House-taken at the lookout beside the lighthouse
5th-Cavendish Beach-love that red sand
6th-Cavendish Beach-love that view

Travel Tip: I ALWAYS take a journal with me when we go on long trips, so I can remember what we did each day as well as the names of the beaches (in this case) or any other sites that we visit! It really helps me with this blog and identifying my thousands of pictures I take too!

Enjoy your week!
