A Few From The Zoo!

Welcome Back!

This time I'm highlighting a few different critters that we found along the African Savanna trail. Ones that I didn't get enough photos to highlight them on their own. One critter here isn't found in the African Savanna, I would guess, but you  just never know as I've seen them all over the USA, so maybe they've travelled farther!

1st Photo- White Rhinoceros
2nd Photo- Canada Goose
3rd-5th Photos- Grevy's Zebra
6th & 7th Photos- Sable Antelope (the black one is the male)

Next time I'll be highlighting the White Lion--gorgeous cats!

Well, I've not accomplished much this week as I've been trying to get rid of this cold--getting lots of rest and fluids! I still have a nasty cough left but am starting to feel human once again...just in time for the weekend!

Have a great one!

More Views from the Zoo

I'm still sharing some photos from Wacatee Zoo, MB---I took so many! Here are a variety of animal shots, taken throughout the zoo.

1st-a chicken wandering around-you could feed them and we did
2nd- a grey squirrel-we fed him too
3rd & 4th-small pig like creatures called Pecaries. They were so cute when they were running around!
5th-a little island in the area where the egrets were...can you see 2 turtles and an alligator?
6th-another little island in the area where the egrets were--includes a sleepy juvenile alligator
7th-a curious ostrich looking for a snack
8th-a zebra taking it easy-the rest of them were running around

Enjoy! More next week!

A Few From the Zoo!

Hello Everyone! Here are some shots from the Toronto Zoo when we visited in December! It was a great day for visiting the zoo, but wish my family was a little more patient as I love to stop and take a few hundred pics of each animal (I'm not kidding!). Anyway, I hope to go again soon with my friend and fellow photography-lover, Melissa!! She is as bad as I am! That's a good thing though!

Here are some of my fave pics, with the big cats being my favourite!!

1st pic-Zebras-a parent and child (they blend well together)
2nd pic-Lioness (she was pacing around)
3rd pic-Lion (he was looking at me like I was lunch!)
4th pic-Black-throated laughing thrush (getting a snack and keeping an eye on us!)
5th pic-Colobus monkey (hanging out)
6th pic-blind cave tetra (it has no eyes!)

Enjoy!

Bowmanville Zoo

Sorry for not posting in over a week..Time flies when you are having fun! The girls got back to school without a hitch, which was good. I've started a photography course, so have been busy reading and doing assignments for that as well as starting my Christmas cards too. This weekend we headed to Peterborough to the Lang Pioneer Village and Peterborough Zoo, so I will try to post some of those shots later this week too!

Here are some more shots of animals from the Bowmanville Zoo, where we went a couple of weeks ago!
