The Last of the Pelicans...

Welcome back!

I'm posting early this week as I'm working in Oneida all week and it gets a tad boring in the hotel room..there is only so many Criminal Minds episodes I can watch per night! :-D

These are the rest of the good photos I have of the Pelicans at the Huntington Beach State Park. Next week I'll find something else to highlight...maybe the moose shots from Algonquin Park!

Have a great week!

More Pelicans!

Welcome Back!

This week I'm including more pelican shots..sorry, I love these birds! Sadly, these aren't the last of them! Next week will be for sure....okay? :-D

These were taken at the Huntington Beach State Park in Myrtle Beach...they were so cute, posing for the camera, I couldn't resist taking 100s of them! So was everyone else, so I don't feel so bad!

Anyway, I managed to get some great MOOSE shots on the weekend in Algonquin Park. YEAH! We saw about 10-11 throughout the weekend...I made the family drive back and forth on HWY 60 a few dozen times! :-) We also hiked some trails...about 3-4..maybe 5 kms altogether--my little dog liked it! Lots of bugs out this time..thank goodness for bug spray! We also saw a cute fox when we stopped to watch a young moose and when we slowed down on the way back, the fox was still there so we stopped and I hopped out, but I didn't really need too, he came running over..he didn't look like he had rabies...I hope not anyway! I think he may have been hungry..Zeek barked at him and he ran into the woods...I managed to get a few shots of him.

I will post shots of the Algonquin critters in a couple of weeks--I have to go through them all...Yep 16+ GB of photos!

On Sunday I'm heading for my second home---Oneida for the whole week. So, I will bring everything I need to get a post up next week.

Have a great weekend!

Crabby!

No, not me...but this post sure is crabby!

These fiddler crabs were shot at Huntington Beach State Park in Myrtle Beach. There were hundreds of them beside the boardwalk. They usually managed to scatter if they heard you coming, but I managed to get a few shots of a bunch of them together...now your test for today...how many crabs can you find in the 1st and 5th photos? :-D

The 2nd and 3rd photos show a couple of crabs getting ready to go at it. They gotta use that big claw for something I guess! The 4th photo is the only shot I got of one by itself...He looks like he's looking for trouble though!

Anyway, I'm keeping this short tonight with only 5 photos..stupid allergies are bothering me big time for the last few days...SIGH. Taking meds suck because they make me so tired and I'm tired enough as it is!

Next week, I'll be back with more pelican photos or maybe some moose! We are heading to Oxtongue Lake Cottages near Algonquin for the weekend, so fingers crossed, I'll find some wildlife to shoot. (snakes excluded!)

Have a great long weekend!

Pelicans!

Welcome Back!

Wow, can you believe I've been at this for 5 years! My first blog post here was April 28, 2008!

Sometimes it's tiresome, especially when I have computer and slow internet issues, but it's also very rewarding. I love photography, editing photos and updating this blog. I'd probably blog daily if I didn't have to work! :-)

Anyway, as promised (or warned :-D) I said I would highlight some photos of pelicans this week. I can't believe how many I actually take each day when I have something to shoot and the tedious part is having to go through them all!

These shots were taken at Murrell's Inlet in Myrtle Beach. Unfortunately the SUN was shining very brightly that day so some of these photos are a bit too bright.

I do have lots more taken at Huntington Beach State Park, which I will hopefully highlight next week. I say hopefully, as I am travelling to Oneida once again on Sunday til Thursday so I'm not sure if I will be able to. Hopefully, I'll remember to bring everything I'll need!

Thanks for visiting!
