More Farm Animals

Since I love animals so much, I decided to put on some more farm animals...these were all taken at Raspberry Ridge Farm, where Keturah does her riding lessons every Saturday morning.

We've been there in sun, heat, rain, snow, freezing cold and blizzard conditions...shows how much she loves it and how crazy I am for driving her there in a blizzard.

Here are a herd(?) of donkeys standing in the only shade available, Diva, the dog, also in the shade, a couple of horse buddies, a cute duck and a couple of chickens (who were in the hen house).

My little buddy....

was out on Sunday when we went for a hike. I thought he looked so cute on this rock out in the middle of the river. The next picture is of him standing at the bottom of the waterfall, where he always goes fishing.

I didn't get too many pictures because it started raining right before I saw this little guy, but I wanted to get a few shots of him, before my camera got drenched. Luckily, I brought my camera bag with me to protect it.

I also got some MORE DUCK pictures too! I'll save those for later this week!

Just a couple of pics today as my computer has been hijacked by World Of Warcraft addicts and so I haven't been able to use it much the last couple of days!

ONE WEEK UNTIL WE FLY TO HALIFAX!!! Yeah, I can't wait now...I'm so excited about going!

A Mission!

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while, Wed night I had to run some errands and Thursday night I had to work---yep, taking pictures at a graduation for my work....It was okay, but I definitely prefer nature/wildlife photography to people/portraits, but, it was a good learning experience for me! Yesterday afternoon, I was off work, so we went shopping and Dad bought us girls, the Guitar Hero--Aerosmith Version, so I spent a few hours playing last night and earning some cash to buy more songs...anyway, I got my highest score yet on Medium Level---yep, got 81% of the notes---yeah me!

Anyway, today I was on a mission at the farm during riding lessons...My friend, Melissa, who is a very talented artist and fellow-photographer, wanted me to take some headshots of the horses, since she knows we are there every Sat...so I hope one of these works for you Mel! If not, you'll have to come with me next Saturday morning and take your own!

And, of course, the horses weren't too cooperative when you want a certain shot, but I got a few that I liked anyway! The last one is my fave of the foal, Casey. He's so cute!

Some Critters at the Farm....

I had to dig into the archives for these pics...We went to the farm on Saturday as per usual, but I forgot my camera at home---URGH---I was too busy getting carrots and apples for snacks for the animals, that I put it down by the door and then left in a hurry and yep, forgot it...I sat there kind of bored without anything to do---I actually had to watch Keturah ride! hee hee.

I should be out hiking and taking pictures right now, but it's too hot and now that we have the air conditioning installed, makes it harder to leave the house!

Here are shots of a llama-closeup, Casey the foal, Harmony (I think) the mule and another llama shot.

The Countdown is on...

I can't believe it's only 2 weeks until we leave for Halifax...The only downside is we are flying there...haha--Just kidding! We have to fly out at 6:20am in the morning---yikes, I can see no sleep for any of us that night. We are staying in a hotel in TO for the night so it will save us some time. We have rented a car to drive around Nova Scotia and New Brunswick and where ever else we may end up. We will stay overnight in Halifax for a couple of nights too. I know the two weeks will go by way too fast and I'll be dreading coming back to work (I'm already dreading it!)

Here are some pics of scenery/landscapes:

1st pic-is of the Lake on the Mountain
2nd pic-Glenora Fishery where the ferry docks on the Picton side
3rd pic-a pic of the Ferry boat through the trees (from the mountain)
4th pic-a couple of birds sitting on an old tree
5th pic-a view of a tree at the Adolphustown Ferry Dock
6th pic-a view of the Ferry taken from the mountain

Kid's Fishing Day

Today was the Kid's Fishing Day in Napanee and since we go every year, we went again this year! It's a great day of fun for kids who wouldn't normally get to go fishing and they give the first 150 kids a free fishing rod and reel, tackle, a hat and bait. They also had Tim Horton's coffee and timbits and for lunch the kids get a hotdog and juice box served on a frisbee...Pretty cool---The sponsors are the local Rod & Gun Club and the OPP. They also had a pontoon boat for rides as well as prizes at the end of the day. We didn't stay that long as Keturah and Kevin wanted to go Kayaking and she wasn't catching any "big" ones either, plus it was way TOO busy! Here are a few pics from the morning's fishing.
(Brooke was shopping with her friends today.)

Family Time

Today is Kevin's birthday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY!). Anyway, Kevin wanted to go to Lake on the Mountain Inn for his birthday dinner, so that's where we went. We took the ferry over and it was such a beautiful day!

We had a really awesome and expensive dinner at the Inn with an appetizer, our main meal AND dessert! We had a Trio of Dips, Kevin had Pork Tenderloins, I had a Thai Chicken Salad and the girls had strawberry salad and greek salad. Kevin and I shared a Bourbon Pecan Pie for dessert and the girls shared a Raspberry Bash with layers of chocolate and raspberry and cream cheese---very decadent.

We then walked around the lake a bit and at the ferry dock to walk off our dinner! We just got home, so now it's off to do laundry!

Oh yeah, here are some pics of our family! (Credit goes to Keturah for taking the pic of Kevin and me!)
