Swallowtail Lighthouse, Grand Manan Island, NB

Welcome Back! This time I have some photos of a beautiful area and the most photographed on Grand Manan Island! This is the Swallowtail Lighthouse and the landmark of the Island. It's such a beautiful area....walk down a flight of stairs (going down is the easy part :-)) and then follow the trail to the lightkeepers house and all the trails around that lead to the edge of the cliffs. There are also benches where you can sit and watch the ferry, the kayakers, the seals and fishing weirs! That's what I hope to do when I retire there! :-)

Today's photos include the lighthouse, some views from the trail down to the lighthouse, some kayakers going by, a fishing weir and Long Island ( I think!) in the background. These photos make me want to pack and go there right now! :-)

Well, this week went by quite fast..I say that every week! At School, I finished Dreamweaver II and wrote the exam and now I am doing a Web Practical Simulation course, which includes a little bit of everything we've learned so far...lots of fun!

Friday, I spent most of the day working on my own small business website stuff...there's still lots to do! :-)

This week/weekend we've been busy spring cleaning and Kevin's been hard at work putting in laminate flooring in all the upstairs bedrooms. So our house is more of a mess than it usually is! :-) I'll be glad when it's finished!

Today I went to an open house for Sunset Gourmet Foods. I am doing some website/social media work for a consultant in Kingston, so she invited me to come and try the new products! Yummy!

Welcome Back!

This week I have the LAST of the sunset photos from the Long Eddy Point Lighthouse on Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick! These are some of my most favourite ones! The photos really do not do the sunset justice...So much more awesome and breath-taking in person.

This week went by fast..another short week! Of course, every week is a short week for me with having Friday's off! :-) I worked on my last lesson for Dreamweaver and will write the exam tomorrow! Not sure what's next on the agenda! More fun stuff, I'm sure!

Not much new to report...Keturah and I headed to Ottawa yesterday for a baby shower for our friend, Sheena...It was lots of fun! Tired today as we got home after 11 last night! Today, just doing groceries, laundry and homework--all that fun stuff!

Welcome Back!

This time I have more photos of the beautiful sunsets at the Long Eddy Point Lighthouse on Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick.

These are all of the sun setting---no lighthouse to be found this week!

Another week went zooming by..probably because it was a 3 day week for me! I had a medical appointment on Monday...I'm still working on Dreamweaver II. Love it...creating a lot of websites along the way!

Brookie came home for Easter on Thursday...we met her at the Whitby Go station...tried that route this time...it didn't seem too bad for us, but she still had a lot of travelling and bus changes! :-)

Friday, we finally got out hiking to Lemoine's Point in Kingston. It was a beautiful day, but the trails were kind of muddy and/or slippery from the slush! On Saturday the girls and I went out shopping for the day. Today, we are heading to take Brooke to catch her train to go back to Waterloo, Keturah is off to work and Kev and I will be going for a turkey dinner at my sister's...Yumm!

This week I have more sunset photos from this area of Grand Manan Island. A beautiful spot, with lots of greenery and water too, of course! I've included a shot of some berries that were beside us as we were waiting for the sun to set.

This week at school went by quick! I'm still working on the Dreamweaver program..it's slow going as I had to create a website for each lesson so far! It's fun, but is sometimes time-consuming, when you run into issues! 

On Friday, went out and ran errands, got my haircut, did some Easter shopping for the girlies and did some laundry! On Saturday we went to the Big Apple and then to Campbellford and then stopped to visit Grammy on the way home. Busy day, but fun to get out...The wind was a bit too cool to go hiking...maybe next weekend? :-) Today, is a lazy day at home, doing homework and finishing laundry..lots of fun! :-)

Long Eddy Point Lighthouse

Welcome Back!

This week and for a few weeks, I'll be highlighting this area of Grand Manan Island, at the Long Eddy Point Lighthouse.

This is the place to go for awesome sunset photos. We always go at least once with every trip to Grand Manan.

The first two photos were taken first, before it was even sunset, just from shooting into the sun. Makes nice silhouettes. You can see from a couple of them, how bright it actually was that evening. Those water shots show the currents flowing...apparently, it's a great place to see whales too, but we've never seen them there. We have seen seals here in the past.

This is probably one of the busiest places on Grand Manan too, because of the sunset there, you get all the tourists with their cameras..they usually come a few minutes before sunset, take photos and leave, whereas, we spend alot longer there, checking for whales and just enjoying the out-of-doors!

Well, we had a great time in Niagara Falls..was fairly beautiful weather. We did a lot of walking, around the falls and Clifton Falls, the mall, The Bird Kingdom and the Butterfly Conservatory, so, lots of photos for future posts! 

Haven't been doing too much the last few days, some homework stuff, laundry, cleaning and even did some crafts!

Southwest Head Lighthouse

Welcome Back!

This time I'm highlighting a few more photos, actually the last of them of this area on Grand Manan, a beautiful sight with all those rocks and cliffs. I added some shots of thistles and a couple with a bee on them.

Well, school went well this week! I wrote the exam for Web Design I on Thursday, so I'd have it done for March Break. I am now studying Dreamweaver II. This is one program that I love using and use often for building websites. I usually end up hand-coding a lot while using it, but use some of the shortcuts when I remember! Thanks to a few of my friends, who helped me out this week testing the usability of a website I had to create!

We went to see Brooke yesterday in Waterloo. Took her out to eat as she doesn't get out much and bought her some groceries and stocked her up at Costco too!

Today, we are just laying low and taking it easy, laundry and movies..tomorrow we are heading to Niagara Falls for 3 days...should be fun! I hope to take some photos as I haven't touched my camera in sooo long! Some photographer I am!

Keturah is working after that, so not sure what I'll do the rest of the week...might have to do some homework! :-)

Welcome Back!

This week I'm continuing with the photos from the Southwest Head Lighthouse Area. These are various views that I shot along the walking trail. Sorry, if some of them look similar, I liked the sky or something different in them and added them to my list! It's such a beautiful area. Looking at these photos makes me wish I was there right now..yep, even in the winter, I'd definitely go!

Loving my new computer, it's so fast compared to my old one...it took me about 1/2 the time to post this as it used to!

This week seemed to go by slower, probably because I was sick with a cold and didn't really want to be at school..I still have the cough left, but am on the mend..now, if I could just shake these stomach issues, I'd be a happy camper!

Last week of school before March Break! Yay..it will be nice to have a break. We are heading to visit Brookie on Saturday. Keturah is working on the Sunday and Thursday, so we are thinking of going to Niagara Falls for a few days in between...see if the falls are still frozen over!

I will hopefully post next Sunday again in between trips!
