White Lions

Welcome Back!

This time I'm highlighting the White Lions, who are permanently back on display and are found in the African Savanna.

Here's a blurb from the Toronto Zoo Website:

"Toronto Zoo introduces three new white lions, which will be on exhibit in a variety of combinations, as a permanent addition to our African Savanna family.

Unique to the Timbavati region of South Africa, these rare and beautiful cats have not been seen in the wild in over 15 years. They carry the recessive gene known as a colour inhibitor of the Kruger subspecies of lion (Panterha leo krugeri). With lion populations dwindling, they are now classified as a vulnerable species. "

I really could use a better lens when shooting some animals at the zoo. Like these ones, they were at the back of their enclosure behind trees and big rocks! Maybe Santa will be generous this year!

Anyway, we had a good weekend despite the yucky weather. We headed to Campbellford for our usual stops: lunch, craft store, bakery, cheese factory and chocolate factory! Lots of goodies!

Keturah has a couple of appointments this week and will be writing her G1 Driving Test! Yikes! I have to go through this AGAIN! :-)

More white lions later this week!
