Staying on the Zoo Theme, here are a few more from our photo shoot at the Toronto Zoo in May. I haven't been out too much. I did get some heron shots, but haven't gone through them to see if there are any good ones!

The Pink Flamingo

My friend and fellow-photographer and I went to the Toronto Zoo almost 1 month ago and enjoyed a rare, sunny day shooting all the animals. We had a ball! I think Melissa really liked these guys as she left me in the dust when she discovered they were out.  They sure were entertaining, playing and splashing in the water and sometimes fighting with others too! Like a pink playground!

Anyway, here are 3 of my favourite shots! I like the last one's fluffy bum! :-)

Pretty as a Peacock!

Hello All! Sorry for the delay in posting...been busy, busy! Working on a new project with my friend Melissa, that has to do with Photography! I'll announce it here when we are ready to go!

Melissa and I went to the zoo on May 20th and got lots of cool animal photos. So here are some of a pretty male peacock, who was strutting his stuff!! I will try update again sooner rather than later!

Lemoine's Point Critters

A couple of weekends ago we went for our first hike at Lemoine's! The trilliums were growing well, but were not open yet. We saw a few critters there...Mostly chickadees, chipmunks, squirrels, woodpecker and a blue jay! My girlie, Keturah fed some chickadees from her hand...They are still pretty tame. The bluejay looked pretty hard, but would not land on anyone's hand! The chipmunks were pretty tame as well and wanted some sunflower seeds..luckily we brought lots and Keturah fed them too!

Later Alligator!

Today I have some shots from the Alligator Adventure Park in Myrtle Beach! Needless to say, they had thousands of alligators... They were all laying around in the sun..I don't blame them, it was a beautiful day! One keeper there said they don't eat from November until April, so we didn't get to see the Feeding of the Alligator show...probably just as well! There were also a lot of reptiles including turtles, lizards, frogs and snakes. Parrots and other birds too! I'll add some of those soon as well!

5th pic-one of the younger ones (he was probably about 3 feet long--just a baby!)

6th pic-a big one, who's jaws were like that the whole time, so maybe he was powering up for feeding time!

7th pic-this was the biggest one recorded in the world..it was from Japan..not sure of it's name (yes it did have one!)

8th pic-this was one of the Albino alligators that they had. They have to stay inside as they can get sunburnt!

See, it was educational too, not just for entertainment! :-)



Great EGRETS!!

Well, Ok, it's the same egret, only different views of him/her. We saw this one at Murrell's Inlet in Myrtle Beach on a beautiful, hot, sunny day. As you can see from the last two pictures, he was having pretty good luck with the fishing!

The body shape of this guy reminds me so much of the Great Blue Heron and when I "Wiki-ed" it, it said that they used to be called Great White Herons-- go figure!
