Welcome Back!

Happy Mother's Day to all those celebrating today! Hard to believe my kiddies are 21 and 18 now...seems like just yesterday I became a MOTHER! :-) Lots of fun times over the years for sure! 

Today we all got together and went for a hike at Lemoine Point. Keturah had to work at 3, so we walked faster than usual. :-) We saw some baby ducks, lots of trilliums and a water snake laying by the water, in the sun...no pics of that! Yuck! We also all went out for dinner on Friday night for Mother's day dinner at The Works as Keturah works on Sundays and we didn't want her to miss out! Kev also made me yummy banana pancakes today for breakfast! Keturah made me some chocolate covered strawberries and some chocolate peanut butter balls...yummy!

I worked for a few hours yesterday as it was our spring open house...It was crazy busy on Friday and Saturday, so I was pretty tired afterwards, but Kev, Zeek and I managed a drive afterwards and stopped at a few parks along the way too!

Here are the pics for this week...another scarlet ibis photo, some sort of quail (I think), a silvery-cheeked hornbill, a green iguana, an eastern rosella and a silver pheasant. More next time!

This week, I'm highlighting more birds in the big aviary at the Bird Kingdom in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

5th & 6th-Silver Pheasant

The last couple of weeks have gone by so fast again...been busy, even on the weekends! I taught a class yesterday and am sick with a cold..mostly in my throat, but it's not fun...Just had a nap, so maybe that will help! Now, I have to get my chores done!

Pheasants of Grand Manan Island, N.B

Welcome Back!

This time I have 8 photos of the same bird...I think it's a pheasant...not sure though. I saw it in the neighbour's yard next door to the house we rented last summer on Grand Manan Island. There were two of them, but I didn't get a good shot of the other one. He/she is very pretty and wasn't overly concerned about me taking it's picture. I did have my long lens on though! Can't wait to get back there for a visit!

This week was renovations! The two doors are finally installed. We have also been downsizing all the crap we've accumulated over the last 25 years! It's amazing how much stuff we have that we don't need! Feels good to purge, although there is some stuff that I won't get rid of no matter what! :-)

Keturah came home for a couple of days last week too, so it was nice to have her around! She is coming back this week too! She has to get a series of rabies shots for school, so has to have another shot this week. Brooke is off to her annual camping trip for a few days with friends! Fun stuff!

Next week, I'll likely start with the whale-watching trip photos!

Well, I think I might survive posting twice a week! I wasn't sure about posting today, but I'm not as tired as I thought I would be and not as tired of looking at a computer screen that I thought I'd be either!

Things are going well with school. The course I did yesterday and today, was review with some new multimedia stuff included and today I started another course, which is kind of boring and a review as well..can't wait to get into the "meat" of the program. On a good note, I did get a few exemptions for my past experience, so am taking a couple of electives from another program they offer!

Looking forward to having Friday off this week! Putting in extra hours, so I can have a longer, long weekend! :-)
