Well, I think I might survive posting twice a week! I wasn't sure about posting today, but I'm not as tired as I thought I would be and not as tired of looking at a computer screen that I thought I'd be either!
Things are going well with school. The course I did yesterday and today, was review with some new multimedia stuff included and today I started another course, which is kind of boring and a review as well..can't wait to get into the "meat" of the program. On a good note, I did get a few exemptions for my past experience, so am taking a couple of electives from another program they offer!
Looking forward to having Friday off this week! Putting in extra hours, so I can have a longer, long weekend! :-)
More later this week!
This is my blog to showcase some pictures that are near and dear to my heart-funny, original and hopefully creative!

Saunders Country Zoo, Pt. 2
Welcome Back!
This time I'm highlighting more photos of the animals found at the Saunders Farm/Zoo....
1st photo: Fennec Fox
2nd photo: Tamandua (he's eating, laying down like that!)
3rd, 4th & 5th photos:Fallow Deer and a Dama Wallaby thrown in too!
7th-9th photos: Capybara (and Brooke feeding it!)
Well, I guess I'll be starting school on Monday! Exciting but scary too! It should be interesting to say the least. I'm taking a Website Designer Program at Academy of Learning in Kingston. I know it will be challenging, but I hope it's not too hard! :-) I'm going to try to keep highlighting photos here twice per week, but the days I update may have to change!
Our friends from Ottawa, stopped in Napanee on Tuesday night on their way home and we enjoyed a dinner and visit with them! This is the week to catch up I guess...
I also had a great lunch with Lynn and Melissa yesterday..went by too fast though. Today I'm having lunch with my other friend, Melissa, who I haven't seen in ages..thank goodness for texting, so we can keep in touch!
Nothing planned for the weekend. Keturah is working on Saturday night, so we won't be able to go too far tomorrow...not that we do anyway...
Have a great weekend!

Lemoine's Point, Pt.2
Welcome Back!
This time I'm highlighting the last of the photos I took at Lemoine's Point in Kingston. These include my favourite local bird, the nuthatch. They are so comical to watch. They really check us out before they will come over and land on your hand (Kevin's in these pictures---mine aren't that hairy!) They also come down the tree very funny, circling the tree as they do, so we think they are gone, but really, they are just on the back on the tree! They also look like they are folded in half on the tree as well, but they got to keep an eye on us I guess!
The last photo is one of a very cautious deer, who didn't want to come too close! Which is good as it is a wild animal and should stay that way, as much as we'd love to pet it, etc.
Next time I think I will post some alligator photos from Myrtle Beach (last March) that I took and noticed that I never highlighted. It's almost time to head back to MB, so I best get these posted!
Well, I've been busy the last couple of days sweating at the gym and I also signed up for a couple of online courses--one craft-related (Cricut Craftroom) and one work-related, which is an Introduction to CSS and HTML5..Lots of reading and assignments --6 weeks long..I'm excited, but I hope I can survive it! :-)
Have a GREAT weekend!

Oh Deer!
This week I'm giving you a reprieve from the pelican photos!
Yesterday we went hiking at Lemoine's Point and we figured our normal trail would be muddy, so we took another, more groomed trail..the one close to the Kingston Airport.
Anyway, it was overcast and we were not seeing much of anything, other than a couple of the usual birds, when it started sprinkling. We started to head back and we heard a woodpecker pecking like crazy and so we stopped to listen to it, to figure out what tree it was in, when I saw something move in the bushes. It was this cute little deer..he/she was quite small...probably last year's model.
Anyway, Kevin was shaking his baggie with the sunflower seeds in it and the deer actually started coming closer! Wow, that never happens! Keturah had picked Zeek up, so the deer didn't seem afraid of us at all. Another guy that stopped as well, was tossing crackers at it, but it didn't eat them. Kevin threw some seeds for it and it would look for them in the leaves!
He actually came right on the trail looking for seeds that we had left earlier for the birds! It was so cool. I was afraid to move in case I scared him off.
Of course, while I was shooting the deer, there was the noisy woodpecker, right at eye level beside me on a branch trying to get my attention. I did manage to get some good shots of it, so guess what I'll post next week! :-)
As we were leaving we saw the 6 deer in the last photo crossing the trail. We were quite far away and by the time we got up to where they had crossed the trail, they had already disappeared into the bushes.
Woodpecker shots next week!

Bon Echo Park Deer
On Sunday the family and I headed to Bon Echo Park to enjoy a day near the beach. Keturah's friend, Hailey also came with us! It was a nice, relaxing, day and it was fairly breezy by the water- a good place to spend a hot, humid day with a good book!
On our way out of the park, we saw these gorgeous creatures! I put a few photos on my facebook page and here are the rest of the "good" ones.
A mother deer and her 2 fawns. The mother was busy eating, but the fawns were hamming it up for the camera...Ok, they were probably just wondering what the heck I was doing, but they were so cute--the second photo is my favourite!

Presquile Residents
We went hiking at Presquile Park the first weekend in April and here are some of the residents at the park. 1st is a shot of a common snipe...he was very hard to see as he is the same colour as the grass, but I noticed him when he moved! 2nd is a shot of a mute swan and 3rd is a shot of a couple of deer watching us closely!!

Oh Deer!
Today we went hiking at Lemoine's Point Conservation Area, even though it was a dreary day. The temperature was great, only minus 5 with the windchill! My kind of weather!
Anyway, I thought I had a great shooting day after finding a Woodpecker, Nuthatch and Chickadees to shoot, but then on our way out of the park, I saw this cute little deer...He was very comfortable with us being there and was just munching on leaves while I took some pics of him.
I'll post the other creatures I shot today later (probably tomorrow).
