Osprey

Bath, ON

Welcome Back!

Sorry, I have been missing in action lately, just been enjoying the outdoors, working and preparing for the weekly outdoor markets (with my card making and sea glass jewelry!)

I am now done my job as job coach for the summer, so I'm not sure if I will look for something, or just enjoy some down time! Plus, we have family coming to visit in July and August and September!

This week I'm highlighting a cute osprey sitting on it's nest. This was in June, so I'm thinking, it's baby was probably up there, but didn't make an appearance for the camera! This pic was taken along Hwy #33 near Bath, Ontario, outside of the Generating Station! They are nice enough that they provide a big tall post with a platform for the birds to build their nest. This nest has been there for years and we see the odd bird using it, but I never had my good camera with the long lens on it...This time I did and managed to get a few shots. It didn't seem too concerned with us being there, course we were far away! :-)

Not sure, when I'll be back on, but hopefully sooner rather than later!

Have a great week!

Myrtle Beach Wildlife

Welcome Back!

This time I'm highlighting some wildlife that you find in Myrtle Beach! Pretty much the same as you'd find here in Ontario during the summer months!

I have a couple of photos of brown birds, which I think are grackles, a squirrel coming down the side of the tree and then a few shots of painted turtles. These were all taken at the Barefoot Landing Boardwalk, which is a nice place to walk off all those pralines we ate! We don't usually see a whole lot of wildlife here, but we have seen cormorants and an alligator in the past.

Well, it's been a quiet week as I try to shake this stupid cough...I'm usually good until I need to talk or sleep!! URGH.

Brooke made it home safe and sound yesterday and on time too! Keturah didn't have school yesterday and had a friend over, so I had a houseful of teens! Lots of fun! Today, Brooke and I went to Kingston for a bit of shopping.

Have a good weekend!

Alligator Adventure: Birds, Birds, Birds!

Welcome Back!

This time I'm highlighting some birds from the Alligator Adventure. I'm not sure what kind the first two are... I was aiming to get a "foot" shot of the first bird..it's got really big feet! The rest of the shots are ducks and swans.

Next time I'll have more alligator shots..almost done with them!

This week has been crazy..we've had more snow days then school days! Brooke and I managed to hang out at the mall the other day and the gym yesterday! Today I had an appointment with Career Edge for help with the job hunting. I think I'll be doing HTML/CSS homework all weekend as I'm a bit behind! :-(  Brooke heads back on the train on Sunday. Wow, the week sure went by fast!

Have a great weekend!

Pretty Bird

Here are some shots of our beloved cockatiel, Wyatt. He was actually being good while I took some pics of him...it must have been because we were putting up our Christmas tree the other night and he's always scared of new things!

Well, I'm off to Toronto today to teach tomorrow...the good thing is that the family is coming with me...they plan to visit the Science Center tomorrow and we will likely do some shopping today...I'm almost done! Yeah!

Here's "Pretty Bird Wyatt" (I like the 2nd shot the best, it shows his whole crest!)
