Lemoine's Point Critters

A couple of weekends ago we went for our first hike at Lemoine's! The trilliums were growing well, but were not open yet. We saw a few critters there...Mostly chickadees, chipmunks, squirrels, woodpecker and a blue jay! My girlie, Keturah fed some chickadees from her hand...They are still pretty tame. The bluejay looked pretty hard, but would not land on anyone's hand! The chipmunks were pretty tame as well and wanted some sunflower seeds..luckily we brought lots and Keturah fed them too!

Later Alligator!

Today I have some shots from the Alligator Adventure Park in Myrtle Beach! Needless to say, they had thousands of alligators... They were all laying around in the sun..I don't blame them, it was a beautiful day! One keeper there said they don't eat from November until April, so we didn't get to see the Feeding of the Alligator show...probably just as well! There were also a lot of reptiles including turtles, lizards, frogs and snakes. Parrots and other birds too! I'll add some of those soon as well!

7th pic-this was the biggest one recorded in the world..it was from Japan..not sure of it's name (yes it did have one!)

8th pic-this was one of the Albino alligators that they had. They have to stay inside as they can get sunburnt!

See, it was educational too, not just for entertainment! :-)



Great EGRETS!!

Well, Ok, it's the same egret, only different views of him/her. We saw this one at Murrell's Inlet in Myrtle Beach on a beautiful, hot, sunny day. As you can see from the last two pictures, he was having pretty good luck with the fishing!

The body shape of this guy reminds me so much of the Great Blue Heron and when I "Wiki-ed" it, it said that they used to be called Great White Herons-- go figure!

Myrtle Beach Pelicans

And no, I don't mean the baseball team!!! These odd looking cuties (brown pelicans) were hanging out at Murrell's Inlet Boardwalk same place as they were last year! We went there two different times this trip and I probably shot about 1000 pics of them and so here are my top 6 favourite ones! After owls, these have to be my favourite bird! Saw a documentary on them this morning too, which reminded me I wanted to post some pictures of them on my blog...Enjoy!



Around the Town in Myrtle Beach!

Sorry for not posting last week while we were away, but we were just too busy..didn't get back to the hotel til around 9 each night and then I had to spend my valuable time backing up my photos!

We had a great time again with awesome weather every day..can't beat that! Too bad we had to come home to the cold reality and snow yesterday!!

So, this week I'm posting some pictures that were taken while we were out and about enjoying the sun in MB.

MB for the MB

Yep, we are heading to Myrtle Beach for the March Break once again. We had such a great time last year, we decided to go back this year...the only downside is the long drive there and back (about 16hrs), but it's worth it to get away and get a taste of spring/summer too!

Here are some shots of the family at various locations throughout MB, taken last year! I think I have a family of models and/or hams!
